Guests for Lady Parts HEART
Katey and Cheyenne have been hard at work creating their next episode of Lady Parts, HEART, and while they have some great material, they can't do it alone! For HEART, they'll be welcoming the following absolutely hilarious and amazing women.
Directing this episode is Mayumi Yoshida!
Mayumi Yoshida is from Tokyo, Japan.
Her role as Crown Princess (The Man in The High Castle) received a 2016 UBCP/ACTRA’s Emerging Actor nomination. She made her debut as a filmmaker with Akashi-あかし- (2017) which she wrote, produced, directed, and starred in. The short film is based on her play NeOn-ね音- which was part of the 2016 Vancouver Fringe Festival and 2017’s rEvolver Festival and Powell Street Festival. Mayumi won Best Actor award at the East Van Showcase, TELUS Storyhive 2016 Digital Shorts Grand Prize, Outstanding Writer at NBC Universal Short Film Festival, and Best Female Director at Vancouver Short Film Festival for her work on Akashi-あかし-.
The two guest artists are Deb Williams and Alison Kelly!
Deb Williams has been working as an actress, playwright, producer, director, comedian, storyteller and teacher for over 30 years. She is the co-creator of Vancouver/Victoria’s The Flame, a sold out monthly storytelling event, in its 9th season. She is one of the creator/stars of the international hit trilogy Mom’s The Word, seen in 19 countries. Most recently she has directed Velveteen Rabbit for Carousel Theatre, debuted her one person show Taking Off at the Belfry Theatre, and costarred in You Are It for Boca Del Lupo. Deb is a community builder, event planner, gardener, knitter, and proud mother of a couple of wonderful adults.
Alison has been making her living as an actor, writer and theatre instructor for over 30 years. She loves doing so. What she doesn’t like is writing bios. She is a proud of the following: being a graduate of Studio 58, teaching at Studio 58, being a graduate of The Simpson Sears Discovery charm school, working with former students (Cheyenne and Katey) and working with a dear friend (Deborah). And the stage manager extraordinaire is Melissa McCowell!
Melissa is a Vancouver-based theatre professional who enjoys tackling stage management, costume and props design.She has had the pleasure of working with a number of incredible companies including Bard on the Beach, Carousel Theatre for Young People, Presentation House Theatre, Ruby Slippers Theatre, The Elbow Theatre,Théâtre la Seizième and Touchstone Theatre. Recent credits include: FourPlay with Studio 58, Not So Dumb with Green Thumb Theatre, and Satellites with Solo Collective. Up next Melissa will be Stage Managing for Wet with ITSAZOO. Melissa is a graduate of Queen's University and Studio 58.

Emelia Symington Fedy

And lastly, JB The First Lady
Jerilynn Webster, aka JB the First Lady, is a member of the Nuxalk & Onondaga Nations. She is a Vancouver-based hip hop and spoken word artist, beat-boxer, cultural dancer and youth educator. With four studio albums under her belt, JB sees her songs as a way of capturing oral history, and isn’t afraid to write lyrics that speak to challenging subjects like residential schools and missing and murdered indigenous women.
