We were very happy to be able to work with an illustrator for after the quake - it's not often we get that opportunity. Edward Kwong was just the right fit - he's a huge Murakami fan and in fact his web portfolio had a Quake illustration up that he'd done just for fun.
Here is what he had to say about the project:
I usually jump at the chance to work on anything Murakami related and fortunately for me, Pi Theatre and Rumble Productions provided me with the opportunity. I've been a fan of Murakami's work for the past few years, ever since a friend recommended Kafka On The Shore to me. His quirky sensibility towards narrative and ability to make the most unheroic characters interesting is something I can appreciate on a number of levels. It was a pleasure to work on a project like this.
