Except in the Unlikely Event of War Info

Except in the Unlikely Event of War is a scathing satire on society's dependency on war, the oppressive threat of message control, and the mutability of truth. Sean Devine’s astonishing new play is in development with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades at Pi Theatre this season.

"Art is a Weapon!"

Except in the Unlikely Event of War is inspired by the best selling 1967 publication "The Report from Iron Mountain" (dubbed the "greatest literary hoax of all time"), and by the modern media phenomenon known as "controlling the message". Sean Devine's script is a scathing satire dealing with the mutability of truth and the inevitability of war. Started during Sean's artistic residency with Pi, we are now continuing to develop the script with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Theatre. We'll be workshopping the play throughout the year and, in June, we'll start an intensive tech and design workshop. We'll be having an open workshop where audience are welcome later in the season. Check back for dates and times.
